The Raytheon Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) is the fire support (C2) command and control system used by the U.S. military and U.S. Marine Corps units to provide automated support for planning, coordination, control and execution of fires and effects.

AFATDS prioritizes targets received from various sensors and performs attack analysis using situation data combined with guidance from the commander. The result is timely, accurate and coordinated fire support options for engaging targets using Army, Navy, Navy and Air Force weapon systems. The system offers complete flexibility to manage attacks on planned and urgent targets.

AFATDS supports weapon systems such as mortars, field artillery guns, rockets, close air support, attack helicopters, and surface naval fire support systems ( NSFS).

The AFATDS also acts as a fire support “server” for LAN-based and tactical Internet-based clients, including the AFATDS Effects Management Tool (EMT) and the EMT’s personal computer. USMC command and control (C2PC).

AFATDS is used in all echelons of the U.S. Army, from the Corps to the Corps and Marine Corps, from the Gun Battery to Marine Expeditionary Forces. The AFATDS is installed aboard the US Navy’s LHA / LHD Class Amphibious Large Deck Ships to support Expeditionary Carrier Groups (ESGs) for amphibious operations.

AFATDS works with all current and planned US fire support systems, as well as allied C2 field artillery systems such as UK BATES, German ADLER, French ATLAS and the Italian CRS. AFATDS is approved for military sales abroad.
